A combination of different factors has contributed to the survival of Donegal handweaving. In days gone by the income generated by weaving webs and selling at local markets in Ardara and Carrick, was a lifeline. Today we celebrate the resilience of our ancestors by continuing to thrive and bring new life to the age-old herringbone and plain patterns.
Visitors here will enjoy a weaving demonstration and a chat about the history of Donegal hand weaving. There's a lot to learn.
Unique hand woven scarves, blankets and purses are available for purchase and could be the perfect gift.
