Harvey’s Point Inducted into Irish Independent’s Hotel Hall of Fame

One of Donegal’s best-loved hotels has received another prestigious accolade, with Harvey’s Point securing its place in the publication’s Hotel Hall of Fame.
The renowned four-star hotel, spectacularly located on the shores of Lough Eske near Donegal Town, took the top spot in the annual list in 2025 compiled by Irish Independent Travel Editor Pól Ó Conghaile.

Each year, the hotel ranked No. 1 in the Hotel Hot 100 is subsequently retired from the list and inducted into the Irish Independent’s Hotel Hall of Fame – a collection celebrating some of Ireland’s most iconic and memorable places to stay.

Harvey’s Point now joins an impressive group of previous winners including Adare Manor in County Limerick, Kelly’s Resort Hotel & Spa in County Wexford and Ashford Castle in County Mayo.

The recognition is another significant achievement for Harvey’s Point, which has built an outstanding reputation for hospitality since opening its doors in 1989.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Lough Eske and the Bluestack Mountains, the hotel has become synonymous with the warm Donegal welcome, spacious accommodation, excellent food and a highly personal approach to hospitality.

In selecting Harvey’s Point for the top position, the Irish Independent highlighted not only the hotel’s distinctive character and famous spacious rooms, but also its continued evolution and investment in the guest experience.

Today, the property features 88 luxury suites in the main hotel alongside The Lodge, while its lakeside setting provides an unforgettable base from which visitors can discover Donegal Town and the wider county.'
