Glendowen Craft Shop will host a special celebration of National Heritage Week 2026 on Saturday, 22 August, featuring the Inishowen launch of the newly published book, A History of Textiles in the Southwest Donegal Gaeltacht.
The event will showcase the rich textile and craft heritage of Donegal through a programme of demonstrations, talks, music, and an opportunity to meet the team behind this important new publication.
Visitors can enjoy live demonstrations of traditional handcrafts by skilled local artisans, including handweaving, spinning, and knitting. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with the craftspeople, learn about traditional techniques, and have their questions answered throughout the day.
